Within the Gate City to The Northwest, resides the Gem of the state. The Continental Bistro established in 1993 is Southern Idaho’s fine dining in a casual Bistro setting and  is located in the historic Old Town district of Pocatello, Idaho. The Bistro Pub, with an Irish Georgian Pub theme serving Premium wells, Micro Brews, and award winning wine list, resides within the Benedicte Wrensted Property 1908-1912. Ms. Wrensted was made famous by her photographs of the indigenous Native Americans and the local area which are on display at The Smithsonian Institute.  The Garden , open air seasonal dining area with Belgium cobblestone and Italian slate, spans the famous Princess Theatre  brick wall of the turn of the last century made famous by the 1954 film “A Star Is Born “Staring Judy Garland .In the film, Ms. Garland sings the hit song, “ I was born in a trunk at the Princess Theatre in Pocatello, Idaho.”  Wednesday evenings in the garden plays host to The  Annual Summer Garden Music Festival where local artists play into the summer night. The Restaurant, with its original brick wall, is housed in the former Kane Grocery and Fords pool hall property where Jack Dempsey was noted as having a prize fight while working in the Gate City.
